Back in 2011 -1st Anatomy dissection class

It seems like yesterday
When my parents dropped me off at the airport
Had to travel alone all the way to India
With a passionate heart
To pursue the unknown
Despite many warnings and don'ts from various sources
I know deep down I had to go and venture on my own
To truly understand how does it feel like
To be inside
To be a Medical Student

Seems like yesterday
When I was all so excited about my first anatomy class
Putting up a brave face when I face the cadever
Amazed by how complex the human body really is
Thankful for the opportunity to learn from a real human body

Discipline Respect Independence
These are the gifts India has given me

Time passed so quickly like a sandstorm
Without realizing it
I'm now 22 and a 4th year medical student.
After months of torturing and training
I'm now down to my last posting - Obstetrics and Gynecology
The final exam is just around the corner

The last semester had been nothing but hell
Adaptations to new environment
Taking a proper history from patients
Building rapport with patients
Earning respect from the staff at the hospital
Trying not to cross any professors

Life is not the same as in India anymore
Here I had to struggle my way through practicals
Everyday hoping the nightmare will be over.

1 more month to go
I'm not ready yet
But i will be

When I'm there
Ill make sure I leave a mark

and go back Home with a smile on my face

TO EXAMS
TO LIFE
.
.
.
.
as a medical student.
